Jagdish Mitra launches GenAI SaaS startup

Former Tech Mahindra India business head Jagdish Mitra has announced the launch of his new startup, Humanize, a Generative AI-powered software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup.

The launch comes just four months after Mitra's departure from the IT services giant. Mitra joined Tech Mahindra in January 2015 as the Chief of Strategy and Marketing Officer. In January 2024, he became the President - India and Head of Corporate Affairs.

Revolutionizing the software development

Humanize aims to revolutionize the software development process by integrating generative AI with low code/no code capabilities, reducing the time required for companies to develop and market solutions.

The startup's core objective is to accelerate the time-to-market for enterprises by leveraging AI and SaaS technology.

"Humanize’s sole objective is to accelerate time-to-market for enterprises. We do it by harnessing the power of two technology hotspots – AI and SaaS (Low-code/No-code). We strongly believe that the future of technology services will be driven by an AI-led core that delivers business-centric use cases. Our AI IP will drive agility and acceleration and leverage human acumen behind each solution," said Mitra, who is also the CEO of Humanize.

The platform is still under development and is expected to be available in the market within the next five to six months.

Raising first investment

As part of the launch, Humanize has raised an undisclosed amount in funding from global technology and digital talent solutions provider NLB Services.

The startup will use the raised capital toward scaling technology and R&D, developing the AI platform, creating CoEs, and expanding the workforce.

"Our AI IP will drive agility and acceleration and leverage human acumen behind each solution.  We have found the right partners with NLB Services in our journey. NLB’s global talent acquisition capabilities and expertise in Digital, Analytics, and Infrastructure are well-positioned to establish Humanize as a leader," Mitra said.

Expanding workforce

Mitra said Humanize will be onboarding 80-100 customers and building an 800-1000 people team in the next five years of its operations.

Currently, the startup operates with a small team of 14-15 senior executives

“AI has been at the forefront of every technological conversation over the past decade. However, AI deployment and usability need to gain momentum across industries. Humanize is equipped to redefine this course, and we believe that its platform on an AI-integrated SaaS stack will be a game-changer for digitalizing enterprises. We always believed in the augmented capability of talent and technology,” said Sachin Alug, CEO of NLB Services.

Targeting the Indian and the US market

Initially, Humanize will target the Indian, the Middle East, and the US markets, with a particular focus on Global Capability Centers (GCCs) within enterprises.

The startup also plans to expand into other regions, including Southeast Asia, Germany, the Nordic countries, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan, in the long term.

Humanize's product offerings will focus on three key areas: customer experience, supply chain management, and sustainability.

“Built on plug-and-play industry use cases on enterprise SaaS stack and powered by GenAI accelerators, our solutions will help enterprises with faster time-to-market by 15-20%. To aid our journey, we will be extensively hiring SaaS experts, full-stack engineers, data scientists, GenAI specialists, & Industry experts,” added Mitra.
