Gensol Engineering Limited, a notable player in the renewable energy sector that focuses on solar power engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services and electric mobility solutions, has announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors.

Kuljit Singh Popli has been named as an Independent Director (Non-Executive), while Ali Imran Naqvi has taken up the role of Director (Executive). 

What experience do the new directors bring to Gensol Engineering?

Kuljit Singh Popli brings over four decades of professional experience in the Indian energy sector.

He is the Founder Director at Clime Finance Pvt. Ltd. and has held significant roles such as Advisor at the International Solar Alliance and Chairman & Managing Director at Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) from 2014 to 2019. 

Popli’s leadership at IREDA was marked by securing international financial tie-ups and introducing innovative financial products. His career includes notable positions at Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC). 

Popli is also the Honorary Secretary General of the India Energy Forum and Chairman of its Renewables vertical.

Ali Imran Naqvi, with over 14 years of experience, has been a pivotal figure at Gensol Engineering since its inception.

As the former CEO of Gensol Solar EPC (India), he significantly expanded the company’s advisory portfolio to over 33,000 MW and led numerous EPC projects totaling over 600 MW across India.

In his new role, Naqvi will oversee the growth of Gensol Engineering and its subsidiaries.
