Borzo, a global intracity delivery service previously known as WeFast, announced its entry into the 3-wheeler and truck delivery market.
The strategic expansion aims to cater to larger deliveries, enhancing service options for businesses in major Indian metros.
The company revealed plans to launch the service first in Mumbai, with expansion goals set for Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune.
The 3-wheeler and truck delivery segment will allow Borzo to handle bulk and heavy shipments, like furniture, repair parts, and large grocery orders.
The shift supports its vision to accommodate diverse logistics needs for business-to-business (B2B) clients across India.
By 2025, Borzo aims to onboard 1,500 couriers using a mix of 3-wheelers and Tata Ace mini-trucks, with a target of 500 deliveries per day from these new vehicle categories.
Expansion strategy and operational model
Borzo’s decision to enter the larger vehicle segment is part of its strategy to capture a bigger share of the B2B logistics market.
By offering flexible delivery options that combine affordability and speed, the company hopes to establish itself as a competitive alternative for businesses seeking cost-effective, same-day delivery solutions.
Alina Kisina, CEO of Borzo, noted, “Entering the 3-wheeler and truck market is a strategic decision driven by the evolving needs of businesses seeking more versatile and cost-effective delivery solutions.”
The new delivery models will integrate with Borzo’s existing app and systems, following the operational style of its current two-wheeler fleet.
Couriers in the 3-wheeler and truck segments will operate as gig workers or as part of small fleets, retaining flexibility in their work hours.
The initiative initially involves traditional fuel-powered 3-wheelers, but plans include adding electric vehicles to the fleet as part of future efforts to improve sustainability.
