Google plans to establish a startup hub in Madhya Pradesh

Sundar Pichai-led Google's cloud computing unit, Google Cloud, is planning to establish a startup hub and centre of excellence in Madhya Pradesh, according to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

He spoke at the Invest Madhya Pradesh interactive session held in Bengaluru on August 8.

MP receives investment proposals worth Rs 3,200 crore

CM Mohan Yadav said the state has received investment proposals worth approximately Rs 3,200 crore, which will create around 7,000 new employment opportunities and further bolster Madhya Pradesh's economy.

The proposals were a result of direct interactions with over 30 leading industrialists and representatives from various sectors, including space technology and information technology.

Engaging with entrepreneurs and industrialists

CM Yadav said that the state government had strategically planned to visit different states and engage directly with entrepreneurs and industrialists, with the aim of inviting investment into Madhya Pradesh.

Additionally, he expressed his hope that Madhya Pradesh's burgeoning relations with Karnataka will continue to flourish and deepen over time, fostering stronger cross-regional economic ties and synergies.

Discussions with HAL

In addition to the Google Cloud proposal, Dr. Yadav also engaged in constructive discussions with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) regarding the potential establishment of an aerospace and defense development wing in Madhya Pradesh.

The collaboration is anticipated to further strengthen the state's position in the defense sector, contributing to its industrial growth.

NVIDIA's blueprint for intelligence capital

Another significant development during the visit was NVIDIA's suggestion to prepare a blueprint aimed at positioning Madhya Pradesh as the "Intelligence Capital of India."

The proposal aligns with the state's broader goals of enhancing its technological capabilities and attracting major IT companies to set up operations within its borders.

The Invest Madhya Pradesh session in Bengaluru was part of a broader strategic effort by the state government to attract investments and foster economic growth.

Over 500 representatives participated in the session, including international delegates from countries such as Britain, Australia, Switzerland, and Italy. 

Moreover, More than 30 leading industrialists, including Lapp India, Reliance Consumer, DHL Global, Tech Mahindra, Microsoft, Kaynes Technology, and Kirloskar Systems, participated in one-to-one meetings.
