On August 31, Google India told Delhi high court that they do not have access to the aadhaar database. Additionally, Google said, There is no need for user's aadhaar details to operate its digital wallet platform GPay.
GPay, a Google-owned digital wallet platform, and online payment system which provides tap-to-pay purchases on mobile devices. However, GPay doe not offer payments system like Paytm or Phonepe.
According to the reports, Google India told to Delhi high court --"Google Pay does not require user’s Aadhaar details, in any manner whatsoever and therefore, neither does it require to access the Aadhaar database nor does it have access to the Aadhaar database."

Furthermore, A petition was claimed against Google Pay that Google is having unauthorized access to the aadhar database.
In response to the petition claimed, Google India told Delhi HC --we do not have access to the aadhaar database in any manner.
RBI in its affidavit had contended that GPay is a third-party app provider and doesn't operate any payment provider system.
Google Pay is one of the fastest growing payments platform in India for contactless payment option. Google Pay is the most used payments app after Paytm.
According to the report by Bernstein, Google Pay is the leading payment app during the lockdown following Paytm, Phonepe, Amazon Pay, and Whatsapp Pay.
