Grofers, India's most popular online grocery delivery service, has launched a new service called "10 minutes delivery in 10 cities.
These cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Lucknow are among the cities.
In a blog post announcing the service, the company stated, “We launched our 10th city with the promise to deliver groceries within minutes to your doorstep. While our average delivery time is still hovering around the 15-minute mark, our eventual vision is to be below 10 minutes for every customer in India”.
The company also stated that it is forming new partnerships and expanding its network in order to ensure that deliveries are made in under 10 minutes in the majority of cities. Last month, the company claimed to have made 7000 15-minute deliveries in a single day. Customers can now order up to 7,000 daily necessities, according to the company.
Ahead of the pandemic, e-grocery has become one of the most important emerging sectors. Consumers can get high-quality groceries delivered to their door without having to leave the house. The Indian Competition Commission approved online food delivery partner Zomato's proposed purchase of 9.3 percent stakes in Grofers earlier this month.
Apart from Grofers, Swiggy, a foodtech major, has also expanded its 15-30 minutes grocery delivery service to five additional cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Noida.
