Dream Sports, the parent company of fantasy sports unicorn Dream11, has reportedly entered India's increasingly competitive casual real-money gaming (RMG) market with the launch of a new gaming platform, Dream Play.
The move marks a significant diversification for the Mumbai-based firm as it extends its real-money offerings beyond fantasy sports.
Dream Play, which is now available on the Google Play Store and App Store, currently features the board game Carrom, with titles such as Pool to follow.
The platform offers multiple modes, including Classic and Freestyle Carrom, and hosts large-scale “Mega Contests,” where players vie for top scores during timed games to win cash prizes. This positions Dream Play in direct competition with established RMG players such as Mobile Premier League (MPL), WinZO, Zupee, and Games24x7, which itself launched a Ludo-based app, Wowzy, last year.
In addition to Dream11, the company operates FanCode, a sports content and commerce platform; DreamSetGo, which provides sports travel experiences; Dream Game Studios; and its philanthropic arm, Dream Sports Foundation. More recently, it launched CRIQ, an AI-powered cricket companion, and Dream Picks, a quick-play fantasy app that allows users to select four-player teams for contests across both innings of a match.
For the fiscal year ending March 2023, Dream Sports reported a 66% surge in operational revenue to Rs 6,384.49 crore.
Founded in 2008 by Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth, Dream Sports was last valued at $8 billion following a $840 million funding round in 2021 led by Falcon Edge, DST Global, D1 Capital, and others.
