In an attempt to give a boost to MSMEs, the Haryana Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department under the guidance of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, on Friday, announced it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three ecommerce companies including eBay, Power2SME, and Trade India.

The development would help MSMEs within the state to leverage the ecommerce platform to tap into the international market and sell their products across 190 global markets.

These three ecommerce companies will conduct training programmes, web events, and workshops for small businesses on using ecommerce platforms to grow their business growth.

"The workshop will focus on providing requisite information and skill-set about various aspects such as product listing, shipping policies, and product descriptions to undertake transactions with audiences across the globe," the statement said.

Under this MoU, eBay will also offer pricing and other benefits to MSMEs under a special scheme.

Commenting on the development, Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, "Our government is focused towards promoting entrepreneurship and enhancing inclusive and balanced regional development in the state. The strategic collaboration will help MSMEs, artisans in remote parts of the state, to overcome challenges restricting their access to domestic and international markets."

He further said that the collaboration will enhance the visibility of indigenous and specialized products from the state, be it industrial products, or traditional handicraft products.

Vidmay Naini from eBay said, “We are delighted to associate with the Directorate of MSME, Government of Haryana to facilitate MSMEs from Haryana to explore the e-commerce export opportunity on eBay. In August 2017, Flipkart had acquired eBay India business for an undisclosed amount.
