HCLTech appoints Lee Fang Chew as Independent Director

Indian IT services company HCLTech has announced the appointment of Lee Fang Chew as an Independent Director, effective from April 25, 2024.

The company said Lee Fang Chew brings to the table over three decades of extensive experience in the global technology sector, particularly noted for her deep insights into the evolution of technology in the computing industry.

Who is Lee Fang Chew?

Lee Fang Chew's professional journey includes a significant tenure at Intel Corporation from 1986 to 2016, where she held various leadership roles. She was instrumental in strengthening the ecosystem for Intel architecture across data centres, cloud services, consumers, and businesses. 

Her leadership in Intel’s foray into services business and strategic planning for the Channel Product Group was pivotal. Post-Intel, she served as Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Applied Materials from 2017 to 2020, where she significantly contributed to shaping the company’s technology value proposition and building long-term strategic partnerships.

Chew's educational background 

Lee Fang Chew is an alumna of the National University of Singapore, where she completed her Bachelor of Accountancy. She further honed her leadership skills through the Women’s Director Development Program at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and participated in executive programs for women leaders at Stanford University. 

Her influence in the technology sector was recognized when she was named one of the 50 most powerful women in the channel by VAR Business Magazine in August 2006.
