HDFC Bank Parivartan Start-Up Grants to support over 50 startups with Rs 20 crore

India's largest private sector bank, HDFC Bank, has unveiled the eighth edition of its Parivartan Start-Up Grants initiative, pledging up to Rs 20 crore in total grants to 50-60 social ventures this fiscal year. 

The bank has already onboarded 15 incubators and accelerators, including IIT Madras, IIM Ahmedabad Ventures, Villgro, and ICAR Pusa Krishi, which will invite applications from social entrepreneurs nationwide.

Each selected startup will be eligible for grants of up to Rs 50 lakh. The initiative will culminate in a series of “Demo Day” events, showcasing startups to the bank, investors, corporates, and media, ensuring greater visibility and opportunities for these ventures.

Focusing on AI, climate innovation

The program emphasizes solutions in areas such as AI for social good, climate innovation, financial inclusion, agriculture and sustainable rural economies. It will also address education and livelihood enhancement, as well as gender diversity and inclusion, aligning with India’s broader sustainability goals.

Selected startups will represent diverse regions of India, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and North-East region states.

Kaizad Bharucha, deputy managing director at HDFC Bank, said the Parivartan Start-Up Grants illustrate the bank’s long-standing commitment to meeting critical societal needs through innovation.

“By nurturing social start-ups that are implementing solutions aimed at achieving SDG targets, we aim to support the creation of sustainable, inclusive solutions for communities across India,” Bharucha said in a statement.

The programme empowers entrepreneurs with resources and visibility, enabling them to scale impactful solutions and contribute to India’s development journey. Through the Parivartan Start-up Grants programme we aim to empower these innovative ventures to make a meaningful impact and create a better future for all,” said Mr. Arup Rakshit, Group Head, Treasury, HDFC Bank.

HDFC Bank Parivartan is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of HDFC Bank. Since 2017, it has supported over 400 startups through more than 120 incubators nationwide.
