Healthtech startup Pristyn Care joins unicorn club at a valuation of $1.4B

Gurugram-based healthcare startup Pristyn Care has now turned into a unicorn startup after raising $96 million (about Rs 732 crore) in a funding round at a valuation of $1.4 billion.

The Series E round was led by marquee investors such as Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global Management, Winter Capital, Epiq Capital, Hummingbird Ventures, and Trifecta Capital.

The round also witnessed participation from angel investors, including Kunal Shah (Founder & CEO of CRED), Deepinder Goyal (Co-founder & CEO of Zomato), Abhiraj Singh Bhal (Co-founder & CEO of Urban Company), and Varun Alagh (Co-founder & CEO of Mamaearth).

Prior to this, Pristyn Care had raised $53 million as part of its Series D round from Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital India, Hummingbird Ventures, and Epiq Capital. So far, the healthcare startup has raised over $177 million in all its funding rounds, according to CrunchBase.

Founded in August 2018 by Harsimarbir (Harsh) Singh, Dr. Vaibhav Kapoor, and Dr. Garima Sawhney, Pristyn Care specializes in non-emergency surgeries for various types of diseases.

According to a statement, The healthcare startup will use the proceeds to enhance its offerings by adopting the latest surgical technologies, expanding into new disease categories, strengthening and modernizing partner-hospital infrastructure, training its surgeons, and further developing its product and technology.

Additionally, The Gurgaon-based startup plans to expand its presence to more than 50 cities/towns with 1000+ surgical centers and 5+ million patient interactions. Currently, It operates via 150+ clinics and 700+ partner hospitals with a panel of 300+ experienced doctors.

“This round of funding is an acknowledgment of the trust our investor partners and our patients have in us," Harsimarbir (Harsh) Singh said. The startup will continue to invest in newer, world-class surgical technology to ensure faster treatment of patients, Harsh said.

"Patient-care is at the core of our commitment to offering the highest quality secondary-care surgeries. We have built a rock-solid technology backbone that strengthens our patient-first initiatives - such as end-to-end support services during the entire process of surgery, billing transparency, and at-home insurance claim processing - and ensures that patients are treated most comfortably," Harsh added.

Pristyn Care operates in cities like Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Indore, Nagpur, Bhopal, to name a few.
