Addressing modern enterprise challenges

Hitachi said the partnership is a response to the increasing reliance of companies on hybrid cloud environments for infrastructure modernization amidst financial constraints, rising costs, and the demand for innovation.

A significant trend highlighted is the shift towards IT as a Service (ITaaS) models, with a Gartner forecast suggesting a substantial increase in Storage as a Service (STaaS) adoption by 2028.

Hitachi EverFlex with Cisco Powered Hybrid Cloud aims to tackle these challenges by providing a consistent experience across on-premises and cloud environments, emphasizing cost efficiency and operational flexibility without upfront investment, the company said in a statement.

Comprehensive service offering

The joint offering includes a wide range of services, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), STaaS, Containers as a Service (CaaS), data protection, and managed operations services.

It features Hitachi Infrastructure Orchestration as a Service (HIOaaS) and Cisco Intersight, which deliver cloud-like management capabilities, strong performance analytics, and efficient automation.

The managed services operating model is designed to ensure seamless operational transitions and reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) for customers by 30-50%.
