IIMA Ventures, formerly known as IIMA-CIIE, has recently introduced its 'Venture Investing Accelerator.'
The programme is tailored to assist amateur investors by equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills needed to excel in early-stage investing.
The initiative aims to support new investors and fund managers in identifying companies worthy of investments or those with positive exit prospects.
Programme details and structure
The Venture Investing Accelerator is designed to be a flexible, experience-based programme where participants can set their own milestones. It includes a 3-day bootcamp on the IIMA Campus, scheduled for August 8-10, 2024.
Participants will gain the opportunity to learn from and network with IIMA Professors, IIMA Ventures Partners, established leaders in venture investing, and peers.
The programme will also offer bespoke mentoring to cater to individual preferences and mentalities.
Target audience and curriculum
The programme is ideal for aspiring and first-time early-stage investors, as well as individuals looking to understand and operationalize venture investing as an asset class through family offices, micro VCs, or corporate venture offices.
For participants aspiring to become angel investors, the programme will cover aspects such as deal scouting, deal structuring, due diligence, term sheet drafting, setting up monitoring mechanisms, and preparing for exits.
For those looking to set up their own funds, the training will be tailored differently to meet their specific needs.

Over the past 15 years, IIMA Ventures has invested in over 350 companies and achieved profitable exits in more than 40.
The platform claims to have mentored over 7,000 founders, accelerated over 1700 startups, provided capital to over 700 companies, and released more than 400 publications.
Notably, Various funds have been launched under its umbrella, including the climate fund INFUSE Ventures, fintech Bharat Inclusion Initiative, and deep-tech Bharat Fund.
