IIT Kanpur's Ecell announces UpStart'23 to support growth in Indian startups

The Entrepreneurship Cell of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, has announced the launch of UpStart'23 as it aims to fuel the growth of promising startups in India.

Departing from the confines of typical startup competitions and transient pitching sessions, UpStart'23 claims to offer participants distinctive opportunities for growth and prosperity.

A significant departure from conventional competitions, the UpStart'23 event extends beyond mere recognition and rewards, manifesting its unwavering commitment to nurturing burgeoning startups. The event commences with a preliminary evaluation round, followed by pitching sessions and culminating in the UpStart Nationals. 

The event concludes with the UpStart Finale, which coincides with the hosting of the Networking Dinner and Upstart Conference during E-Cell IIT Kanpur’s flagship entrepreneurial event, the E-Summit. These platforms offer startups and Venture Capitalists (VCs) a unique environment to deliberate on ideas, mentoring procedures, and investment opportunities in both formal and informal settings. The finale offers finalists a chance to present their startup initiatives to a panel of distinguished VCs.

A key element of UpStart'23's structure is the addition of Mumbai as the fourth startup hub.

The event, which is scheduled to take place on the 16th of July 2023 in Delhi and Bangalore and on the 22nd of July in Mumbai and Hyderabad, will host VCs from renowned firms such as the Indian Angel Network, Chiratae Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, 100x.VC, Blume Angel Network, Matrix Partners, Ankur Capital, and more.

Notably, It will create a networking hub, bringing together over 450 startups, aspiring entrepreneurs, industry experts, investors, and mentors from across the nation.
