Gurugram-based fintech firm MobiKwik on Monday announced two senior-level promotions aimed at strengthening its core business operations and accelerating product innovation.

Saurabh Dwivedi, who joined the firm in August 2023 as senior vice president of engineering for the payments division, has been promoted to chief technology officer (CTO).

Over the past two years, Dwivedi has played a key role in building high-performing engineering teams, enhancing infrastructure scalability, and developing new products. Prior to joining MobiKwik, he served as vice president of engineering at MakeMyTrip, where he helped scale the travel platform’s technical infrastructure.

A seasoned technology leader with over two decades of experience, Dwivedi has worked extensively on the architecture, design, and management of large-scale, complex transactional platforms catering to consumer-facing applications. At MobiKwik, he previously led engineering efforts in the digital payments segment, focusing on product innovation and system resilience.

He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from GGSIP University in Delhi. As CTO, Dwivedi will lead engineering efforts across four key verticals: Payments, Financial Services, Core Platform, and Infrastructure & Information Security.

This year, MobiKwik is prioritizing AI as a strategic growth driver. Dwivedi is spearheading initiatives such as AI-assisted product development, Efficient Collections and Customer Delight, all aimed at accelerating the company’s go-to-market strategy, driving revenue, and expanding margins through automation.

"I am honored to take on this expanded role and excited to shape our AI powered technology vision. MobiKwik has evolved into a diverse fintech platform – consumer payments operates at a significant scale, credit distribution is growing rapidly while our emerging verticals - wealth and payment gateway are still in the innovation phase. My focus will be on building a unified yet flexible infrastructure that serves diverse businesses at different stages of maturity, while maintaining reliability and innovation for our users," said Saurabh Dwivedi.

“Since joining MobiKwik, Saurabh has demonstrated remarkable leadership in inspiring our engineering team to set high standards for our core product as well as driving innovation through new ideas,” remarked Bipin Preet Singh, Co-founder, MD & CEO, MobiKwik.

The company has also elevated Dhruv Wadhera to senior vice president of offline payments. Wadhera has led MobiKwik’s offline payments vertical since June 2023, overseeing its expansion across smaller towns and rural regions of India.

Before joining MobiKwik, he held senior roles at Zomato, including vice president and sales director, where he managed P&L operations across North and East India. Wadher also founded and successfully scaled two businesses in the threads and paper hygiene segments.

"The offline payments space presents an enormous opportunity to empower SMEs and MSMEs across Bharat who are at the heart of India's digital transformation journey. This promotion energizes me to accelerate our mission of bringing accessible payment and financial solutions to every small business, from small towns to remote villages," said Dhruv Wadhera.

"As we scale new heights, it’s vital we have strong leaders at the helm of both technology and distribution. Both Saurabh and Dhruv have demonstrated the acumen to serve our users with excellence, build with foresight and lead with integrity. I’m excited to see them shape the next chapter of MobiKwik’s growth story," Bipin Preet Singh added.
