InfoEdge acquiring HR tech startup DoSelect for Rs 21 crore

Internet company InfoEdge, and parent of the recruitment portal, Naukri.com, has signed an agreement to purchase 100% of the share capital of Bengaluru-based DoSelect.com for Rs 21 crore.

The proposed acquisition would allow Info Edge to offer a new range of services under its flagship brand Naukri.com, allowing the company to further consolidate its position in the online recruitment solutions segment, where Naukri.com already holds a dominant position, according to the platform.

Speaking on the acquisition, Rohit Agrawal, Co-founder & CEO, DoSelect said, “The Info Edge association gives us much-needed support, resources, and an ecosystem to achieve our aim of creating the best assessment automation software in the world. We will continue to fortify our product offering in addition to bringing in better leverage with the Infoedge ecosystem and deeper integration with their services. DoSelect will run as a business unit of Info Edge and this acquisition will only broaden our platform offerings in terms of products and solutions by joining a larger and stronger ecosystem.”

DoSelect, co-founded in 2015 by Iliyas Shirol and Rohit Agrawal, is a data-driven skill assessment platform for hiring and skilling. Seed funding has been provided by investors such as Mumbai Angels, 3one4 Capital, Aarin Capital, and Mohit Saxena (Co-founder, InMobi).

DoSelect employs data-driven assessment intelligence throughout the recruitment lifecycle and has amassed a strong customer base of over 150 customers across enterprises, SMEs, and startups in a variety of industries. By deploying successful solutions in hiring, upskilling, onboarding, deployment, and employee engagement, the company has enabled its customers to make smart "people decisions."

The company will provide an intelligent decision engine to help organizations target relevant applications for various jobs more efficiently as part of the InfoEdge ecosystem, which also includes the country's largest job seeker database.

DoSelect's current clients include Capgemini, Fractal Analytics, PhonePe, UpGrad, Hexaware, Simplilearn, and DXC.

InfoEdge had previously acquired Bengaluru-based Zwayam Digital Pvt Ltd., artificial intelligence and machine learning-powered recruitment management software platform, in June of this year.

With years of experience in the industry, strong cash flow generation, and a diverse business portfolio, InfoEdge is one of the country's few profitable pure play internet companies.

The company was founded on May 1, 1995, as Info Edge (India) Private Limited under the Companies Act, 1956, and became a public limited company on April 27, 2006. Info Edge began with a classified recruitment online business, naukri.com, and has rapidly grown and diversified, setting standards as a pioneer for others to follow.

InfoEdge has 4,049 employees working in innovation, product development, integration with mobile and social media, technology and technology up-gradation, research and development, quality assurance, sales, marketing, and payment collection across 62 offices in 43 cities across India.

 It has also expanded into the Gulf market with the website www.naukrigulf.com, and it currently has offices in Dubai, Bahrain, Riyadh, and Abu Dhabi.

Happily Unmarried, Vacation Labs, Shop Kirana, Unnati Helpers, mydala.com, Coding Ninjas, Adda 247, Medcords, Big Stylist, Rare Media Company, No Paper Forms, Univariety, Gramophone, Printo, Shipsy, and other internet companies have received funding from InfoEdge. It made a recent investment in logistics aggregator Shiprocket.
