InMobi's Glance records 140 million active user base in India

Glance is a software company that uses artificial intelligence to bring personalized content to smartphone lock screens.InMobi is the parent organization, a worldwide technology corporation.

According to an estimate by Counterpoint Research, Glance, InMobi's lock screen platform, has 140 million active users in India for the first quarter of 2021.70% of newly released smartphones in the sub-$250 price range come pre-installed with the service.

Glance has a particularly strong presence in India's sub-$250 smartphone market, which accounts for 80% of sales, with 46% of active users owning devices in the $150-250 price range. In India, consumers with cellphones priced between $100 and $150 make approximately 21% of the service's user base.

Glance leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver personalized content in categories such as news, entertainment, technology, sports, fashion, and travel via video storytelling and live streaming.

This guarantees that users are kept up to date on trends and developments in their areas of interest without having to actively seek them out. Given that the great majority of Indian smartphone users are not native English speakers, the platform has also been striving to break into the country's vernacular content industry.

Arushi Chawla, a research analyst, said“Glance is a platform that bridges the gap between new content and millions of smartphone users with its intuitive user interface.”

“It comes as a pre-installed feature, as against an app that needs to be downloaded. This makes it easy to use. It offers content in eight regional languages, which is significant value addition in a linguistically and culturally diverse nation like India,”
