InsuranceDekho announces key leadership appointments and expands workforce

Indian insurtech firm InsuranceDekho has announced significant leadership appointments as part of its strategic effort to bolster innovation and growth.

These appointments are expected to strengthen the company's leadership team and advance its mission to revolutionize the insurance industry in India.

Who are the newly appointed executives? 

Manish Mahajan has been appointed as the Chief Business Officer for Consumer Business.

With over two decades of experience in the insurance industry, having held key roles at Aviva Life Insurance and Max Life Insurance, Mahajan will focus on expanding InsuranceDekho’s operations. He will lead efforts to scale the company’s consumer business by driving expansion and forming critical partnerships.

Sonali Mitra will join the team as vice president, who will lead strategic projects within the founder’s office.

Mitra brings over 17 years of experience from leading companies such as Mondelez, Ikea, Flipkart, and Pepperfry. Her role will involve steering strategic initiatives and crafting long-term plans to ensure sustainable growth for the company.

Strengthening technological and financial operations

Nishant Gupta has been appointed as Vice President of Technology, where he will spearhead engineering initiatives aimed at enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.

Gupta, who has 14 years of experience in tech leadership roles at BharatPe and Goibibo/MakeMyTrip, will be crucial in advancing InsuranceDekho’s technological capabilities.

Additionally, the company has named Prashant Kalaver as the Head of Internal Audit. Kalaver, with over 20 years of experience at companies like Citibank and Aviva Life Insurance, will focus on improving governance and internal controls within the organization.

Shruti Kapoor has been brought on board as the Finance Controller.

Kapoor, who has an extensive background in consulting and insurance with previous stints at Aviva India, KPMG, and PwC, will oversee fiscal management, taxation, risk management, and operational efficiency, contributing to the company’s sustainable growth.

Divya Mohan, Chief Human Resources Officer at InsuranceDekho, highlighted the importance of these hires in positioning the company for future growth.

Expanding workforce

In addition to these key leadership appointments, InsuranceDekho has announced plans to significantly increase its workforce.

Last year, the firm strengthened its team by hiring over 30 Associate Directors and senior executives, boosting its middle and frontline management.

Currently, the company employs nearly 2,500 people, all of whom play a vital role in advancing InsuranceDekho’s vision.
