Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata has once again addressed fake news spreading in his name. He took to Instagram on Wednesday to deny a report claiming he was launching an architecture firm.
"Fake news," Tata posted on Instagram, along with a screenshot of the news article.
Is Ratan Tata an architect?
Ratan Tata received his bachelor of architecture degree from Cornell University in 1962. He worked briefly with Jones and Emmons in Los Angeles before returning to India in late 1962. He completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School in 1975.
Notably, He was the chairman of major Tata companies, including Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Power, Tata Global Beverages, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotels and Tata Teleservices.
He is also associated with various organisations in India and overseas. Tata is on the international advisory boards of Mitsubishi Corporation and JP Morgan Chase.
Ratan Tata's deep fake video
This is not the first instance of Ratan Tata addressing fake news. In December of the previous year, he exposed a deepfake video that depicted him asking people to invest money in a project, which he denounced as fraudulent.
"I get millions of messages a day asking me to help you. Together with my manager Sona Agarwal, I launched a project. In order to get into the project, you need to deposit a minimum amount," the video wrongly showed Tata as saying. While sharing the video on his Instagram story, Ratan Tata alerted people and called it fake.
