Carina Chopra
Carina Chopra, head of marketing and communications at Lightspeed India, has resigned and will leave the firm in the coming weeks, IndianStartupNews (ISN) has learnt.
Chopra had joined the investor three-and-a-half years ago, in August 2021, after spending several years at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) where she was last a Global Brand Director (GBD).
She started at HUL back in 2008 and left only in 2021, with some gaps in the interim, her LinkedIn profile shows.
“At Lightspeed, Carina heads Marketing and Communications for the India and SEA region, working across the portfolio, with a lean team, as they help craft brand positioning and strategy and strengthen marketing execution across product marketing, content, events, digital, community, PR, partnerships and media,” the company’s website reads.
While at Lightspeed, she also helped founders of portfolio companies navigate their needs in her domain.
Lightspeed did not reply to ISN’s queries.
Chopra is exiting at a time when Gayatri Yadav, former chief marketing officer (CMO), at Peak XV Partners is also departing, ISN had first and exclusively reported on December 6, 2024.
Chopra joins Lightspeed Partners Abhishek Nag and Vaibhav Agrawal in quitting the company in about a year’s time.
In India, a key market for Lightspeed and other VCs, the investor has backed Zepto, Zetwerk, Oyo, Byju’s, Udaan, Sarvam AI and several others.
