ISN Exclusive: Ola-backer Z47 sees high-level departure as Chandrasekhar Venugopal quits

Venture capitalists in India are on the move and a management shakeup is imminent.

Chandrasekhar Venugopal, who was designated as Principal at Z47 (fka Matrix Partners India), has resigned, sources privy to confidential information told IndianStartupNews (ISN). 

Venugopal was associated with high-visibility bets such as Emversity and H’you.

According to reports, he is the second big departure at Z47 which, recently, also lost its Venture Partner Pranay Desai.

Z47 chose not to reply to ISN’s queries. 

Principals and VPs have been quitting VC funds left, right and centre. More recently, Ashpi Gupta, jumped ship from Elev8 Venture Partners to Grey Sky Capital, a quant trading firm.

Venture capital firm Peak XV Partners has seen the exit of three senior investment professionals Ashish Agrawal, Ishaan Mittal and Tejeshwi Sharma, as part of an ongoing leadership transition at the firm, even as the trio prepares to launch a new venture capital platform together.

Peak XV said the decision to part ways with Agrawal was mutually agreed upon following discussions around the long-term interests of its limited partners and the institution.

After Agrawal’s departure, Mittal and Sharma also decided to step away from the firm.
