Manish Pansari, senior vice president (SVP) of Business at Scaler and InterviewBit, an upskilling startup, has resigned from his position and will move on from the company, sources in the know told Indian Startup News (ISN) on the condition of anonymity.
In his position, Pansari was leading the Data Science & Machine Learning (DSML) business, providing differentiated and aspirational offerings for technical skilling and focused on the India market.
The company, which is backed by the likes of Tiger Global and Peak XV Partners, had announced his appointment only January 2023 which essentially means Pansari has quit in a short span.
Pansari has over 20 years of experience and led business, operations and senior consulting roles across large organisations such as Myntra, Jabong, Betterplace and consulting firm Kearney. He juggled clients situated across regions like the US, Japan, China, South-East Asia, Middle East and India.
It is still unclear who will replace Pansari in this high-profile role.
Scaler did not reply to ISN's queries.
In April 2024, Scaler, which competes with larger players like Eruditus, UpGrad and other edtechs, had laid off at least 10 percent of its workforce or around 150 employees from marketing, sales and other departments of the company as investor sentiment across edtechs took a beating.
Scaler, an online tech education platform launched in 2019 by InterviewBit Technologies, offers a structured programme for upskilling technology capabilities of learners and runs an undergraduate university called the Scaler School of Technology.
The company was last valued at $710 million in February 2022 during its last funding round making it a soonicorn or a company valued above $500 million but under $1 billion.
