Zepto vice president Rakesh Mohite quits

Rakesh Mohite, Vice President (VP) of Finance at Zepto, has quit the company, which has seen other VPs leave during a time when quick commerce companies are locking horns increasing the competitiveness in the market, sources told IndianStartupNews (ISN).

Mohite was serving his notice period and has now transitioned out of the company. His next move is not yet known and he has not updated his LinkedIn profile, either.

As per his LinkedIn, Mohite – a chartered accountant by profession – had joined Zepto in September 2021 which means he was with the company for around three-and-a-half years before spending time with Pepperfry where he was the Senior Finance Manager for nearly six years.

Zepto chose not to reply to ISN’s email seeking further details. As per media reports, Mohite is now the third big departure at Zepto which rivals Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Big Basket, Flipkart Minutes and more.

In December Zepto’s HR head Martin Dinesh Gomez quit the company and shortly after that, Jitendra Bagga, VP of central operations at Zepto called it quits. Zepto has quickly risen to prominence and become the second-largest quick commerce company in India ahead of older firms such as Swiggy Instamart but lagging Blinkit, the market leader.

A departure at Zepto has transpired at a time when the company is evolving at a rapid pace. From flipping back to fundraises and incorporating a new entity, Zepto has seen it all as it prepares to go IPO and become one of the fastest startups to hit Dalal Street.
