The move brings QR-based tickets and in-app payments to commuters, allowing them to bypass queues and plan journeys across multiple modes of transport on a single platform.

The integration marks a step toward ixigo’s ambition to become an end-to-end mobility hub. The company, which already enables bookings for trains, buses, flights, and hotels, now extends its reach to Delhi’s vast urban transit system, which carries millions of passenger journeys daily. First-time users of the service will receive 100% cashback, up to Rs 50, on tickets booked between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Dinesh Kumar Kotha, CEO of ixigo Trains and Confirmtkt, said the partnership reinforces ixigo’s vision of creating a connected travel ecosystem. “Delhi Metro is the backbone of daily commute in Delhi-NCR, and enabling instant ticket bookings directly within our app will help passengers save time, avoid long queues, and plan their end-to-end journeys on ixigo,” he said.

“Enabling metro ticketing on a trusted platform like ixigo Trains app gives passengers more flexibility and convenience, while encouraging wider adoption of ticket booking through digital platforms,” said Vikas Kumar, managing director of DMRC.

“By connecting metro ticketing with its ecosystem of trains, buses and flights, ixigo is helping ONDC Network to build a unified mobility layer for India,” said Vibhor Jain, Acting CEO & COO, ONDC.

The Delhi Metro operates nearly 400 kilometers of track across more than a dozen lines, making it the country’s largest and busiest metro system. In August, it recorded its highest-ever single-day ridership, with more than 8.1 million journeys.

Founded in 2007, ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Ltd.) has grown into a dominant player among India’s online travel agencies, with over 540 million annual active users in fiscal 2025. The company introduced features such as predictive waitlist confirmations, AR-based coach locators, and an AI-powered voice assistant. Its e-catering subsidiary Zoop allows passengers to pre-order meals delivered directly to train berths.
