Jio Financial Services Ltd. has introduced its JioFinance app in Paris, enabling Indian travellers to make digital payments at select tourist attractions.
The launch coincides with the Paris Olympics, which has drawn global attention to the French capital.
The app supports international payments, allowing users to purchase tickets to popular sites such as the Eiffel Tower and shop in-store at the renowned Galeries Lafayette Paris Hausmann.
"We're proud to announce the entry of the JioFinance app in the French capital, making it convenient for Indian travellers to transact digitally at key Parisian landmarks," the company said in an exchange filing.
Features and functionality of JioFinance
The JioFinance app offers a comprehensive range of financial services designed to simplify money management for its users.
Features include UPI payments, digital bank accounts, wallet services, bill payments, recharges, insurance broking, and a unified view of holdings across various bank accounts.
Partnership with Visa
JioFinance has partnered with Visa, the official payments partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, to extend its reach and functionality.
The collaboration was showcased at India House, a centre created by the Reliance Foundation in partnership with the Indian Olympic Association. India House serves as a hub for Indian athletes and visitors, providing a space to experience Indian culture and heritage during the Olympics.
India House is a significant venue during the Paris Olympics, designed to celebrate Indian culture and support Indian athletes. The center includes an experience zone for the JioFinance app, highlighting its features and benefits.
