The Karnataka government, on December 6, extended an invitation to startups, encouraging them to propose technological products and solutions tailored for various government departments.
The initiative, led by the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) under the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology, aims to foster a collaborative environment between the government and the startup sector.
Empanelment process and deadline
According to the reports, the process has been initiated to empanel eligible startups for procurement of technology products and solutions for state government departments
The report added that startups interested in participating must download and submit their proposals electronically through the Karnataka Public Procurement Portal (kppp.karnataka.gov.in). The deadline for proposal submission is set for January 4, 2024. The government has provided detailed documentation requirements in the Call for Proposals, which are available on the same portal.
Enhancing Karnataka's startup ecosystem
Karnataka IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge highlighted the initiative's alignment with the government's policy to enhance innovation and collaboration opportunities for startups. He said this initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Karnataka's startup ecosystem. The state is already leading the country in software and service exports.
