KhataBook Fights Over Plagiarism Allegation On Its Platform

Sequoia backed online ledger application KhataBook is fighting over plagiarism allegation on it platform. An app developer Growth Pond reportedly sent a legal notice to Khata Book accusing that the company has plagiarised its Dukan app and has violated trademarks of the registered company.

Further, Responding to the legal notice sent by Growth Pond, Khatab Book counter-claimed that Growth Pond has stolen the company's intellectual data and proprietary data without any permission.

According to the reports, Khatab Book wasn't responding to the allegations put in by Growth Pond against their platform. But earlier last week, The fight against both of these companies came into attention and has seen plenty of twist and turns.

Furthermore, Both of these companies filed complaint against each other for the data and IP theft. Meanwhile, Allegations and questions are being continue to come up in the public after multiple statements from both of these companies.

Moreover, MyDukan.io has laid out what it claims against Khata Book to prove that the platform was originally developed by Growth Pond team. Khata Book has stolen the platform data and has done IP theft. Although, KhataBook wasn't responding to the situation.

KhataBook legal team has counter-attacked Growth Pond accusing that the company has stolen the intellectual data and proprietary information of KhataBook.

Both of these apps works on the same niche, Providing online ledger platform for small businesses to manage their business transactions with an ease.

Both of these company's denied to give any statement or answer after getting recommendations from their legal team.

According to the company's claims, Khata Book is close to 20 million (2 crore) business merchants on their platform in nearly 11 different languages. The company Khata Book is currently valued at $300 million and till now it has raised $87 million from investors such as Sequoia India, DST Holdings, Tencent Holdings, etc and from angel investors such as Kunal Shah, Rohit Bansal, etc.

Whereas, Growth Pond developed MyDukan.io platform has reached 2,50,000 lakh business merchants in its platform.
