Renowned global venture capital investor Lightspeed has reached the final stages of moving its Bengaluru office from Koramangala to Indiranagar, home to most prominent startups in the country, sources have informed IndianStartupNews (ISN).
Lightspeed was earlier close to Sony Signal in Koramangala but it now appears that the investor is done with that area and has chosen to move to Indiranagar’s 12th main, where Cred, Araku, Corner House and other popular businesses are situated.
Lightspeed has not yet replied to ISN’s queries.
This will also make it easy for founders to access Lightspeed as time is of the essence and reduced travel time will result in faster deal closes. This happens when Lightspeed said it is bullish on the India startup story and is looking to double down on companies here. But, Lightspeed is also following a trend.
Other venture capital firms like Elevation Capital and more are upsizing their office sizes as they look to hold more meetings in-house, behind closed doors, instead of meeting at popular spots and risk leakage of information.
Elevation Capital, the backer of Swiggy, Meesho and more, recently moved from a cozy space in the Leela Palace to a swanky new office near Bellandur.
Another reason why venture capital firms are upgrading their office space is because they are also generating more content, like podcasts, video shoots and more, to engage with people and amplify the brand name, as per an industry expert who spoke to ISN on confidentiality.
