DTDC, a homegrown integrated express logistics provider, is entering the rapid commerce market with a new 2-4 hour delivery service and same-day delivery options.
As part of the initiative, the company has opened its first dark store in Bengaluru, a major e-commerce hub where emerging direct-to-consumer brands and social commerce sellers have gathered significant momentum.
How does the dark store model work?
The dark store model functions as a specialised, technology-driven fulfilment centre designed to optimise packing and dispatch processes so that goods can reach customers within hours.
Following a successful pilot, DTDC plans to roll out similar facilities nationwide in key markets, enabling smaller brands to offer rapid delivery and meet consumer expectations in a crowded, fast-paced digital ecosystem.
