Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant, in a post on X, announced that luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz will invest Rs 3,000 crore in Maharashtra this year, which will help create employment opportunities in the state.
Samant, who was touring Germany, met with top executives of Mercedes-Benz on Thursday to discuss investment opportunities in the state.
"Had a meeting with representatives of Mercedes-Benz while on a tour in Germany today. Mercedes-Benz is set to invest 3,000 crores in Maharashtra this year. This investment will not only boost the industrial sector but also increase employment opportunities in Maharashtra," Samant wrote on X, sharing photos with the company's executives.

The German car maker also confirmed its investment plan for India of $24 million in 2024, adding that expanding that sum would depend on market conditions.
"Mercedes-Benz is committed to its current investment plans in India which were announced in January, and which foresee an investment of about $24 million this year," Mercedes-Benz said in a statement.
"Any further investments will depend on market demand." the company earlier said.
