Mahindra Logistics to invest Rs 170 crore on warehousing facility near Pune

Mahindra and Mahindra-owned Mahindra Logistics today said it has initiated the construction of a state-of-the-art warehousing facility in Phaltan, near Pune, with an investment of Rs 170 crore. 

The facility, which is covering 6.5 lakh sq. ft., is set to bolster MLL's nationwide network of multi-client facilities, the release said. 

Phases of development 

Mahindra said the development of the warehouse will occur in two phases. The first phase, encompassing 3.5 lakh sq. ft., is expected to be operational by the end of 2024. The phase is already contracted to a manufacturing client and will serve as their national logistics center.

Strategic location

Phaltan is a strategic location in close proximity to key customers in auto OEM & components. Mahindra Logistics said it will manage inbound logistics to manufacturing and distribution solutions of diverse clients in the automotive and manufacturing sectors located in the region.

Sustainability and community engagement

The company said the development aligns with its sustainability standards, the warehouse will incorporate decarbonization, renewable power utilization, and adherence to green warehousing standards.

It also plans to dedicate resources to skill development initiatives, creating employment opportunities for more than 500 individuals in the region.

Swaminathan said the facility will be integrated with our national network of multi-client facilities, express, and Full truckload operations providing enhanced reach and service levels to our customers.
