MakeMyTrip, the travel ticket booking platform, has announced its entry into the global experiences market with the launch of a Tours and Attractions booking platform, offering Indian travellers access to more than 200,000 bookable activities across 1,100 cities in 130 countries.
The company said the platform enables Indian travellers to discover and book a wide range of global experiences, from city walks and cultural tours to theme parks and adventure sports. The offering addresses a common challenge among Indian outbound tourists: navigating scattered information, foreign currency pricing, and fragmented planning tools.
By consolidating these elements into a single, streamlined interface, it aims to reduce friction and bring greater clarity to the experience-booking process.
“Experiences account for a significant share of spending when Indians travel overseas, yet discovering and booking them remains one of the most fragmented aspects of the journey. Our attempt is to make the discovery and booking experience simple, convenient and personalised like the flight, hotels, and ground transport bookings,” said Rajesh Magow, Co-founder and Group CEO, MakeMyTrip.
The Tours and Attractions platform allows travellers to discover and pre-book a curated selection of iconic landmarks and local experiences across major global destinations. Offerings range from visits to well-known sites such as the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland in Paris, or a desert safari in Dubai, to more immersive activities like helicopter rides over Kauai Island in Hawaii or an interactive sumo demonstration in Tokyo’s Asakusa district.
The platform is powered by partnerships with leading global experience providers. Users can browse and book activities in INR, with all bookings integrated into the ‘MyTrips’ section, just like flights, hotels, and more.
