Homegrown matchmaking platform Matrimony.com has entered the domestic job market with its new platform, Manyjobs.com, for frontline and entry-level job seekers across Tamil Nadu.
The move marks the company’s diversification from its core matrimony business of over two decades, as announced by CEO Murugavel Janakiraman at the launch event on Friday, Nov. 24, 2024. The app will primarily deal with ‘grey collar’ jobs.
Targeting Tamil Nadu
The app was unveiled in Chennai by T R B Rajaa, minister for industries, investment promotion, and commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu, alongside Murugavel Janakiraman, chief executive officer of Matrimony.com Group.
Available in Tamil and English, Manyjobs.com is designed to cater exclusively to entry-level positions in sectors like BPO, retail, sales, healthcare, and customer service.
"With Tamil Nadu being India’s talent and industrial capital and with the focus being on the creation of jobs for all, this app will contribute towards increasing the employment rate in the state. Tamil Nadu is also at the forefront of women’s employment—with around 42% of employed women in India belonging to Tamil Nadu. ManyJobs will be an apt platform to facilitate the process of job seeking across the state," T R B Rajaa said.
Filling a gap in grey-collar recruitment
Grey-collar roles, spanning customer service and sales to hospitality and retail, are often underserved by larger job portals like Naukri.com. Manyjobs.com aims to address this niche by allowing users to find jobs in their preferred cities and ensuring all job listings are thoroughly verified to maintain authenticity and eliminate fraudulent or misleading job opportunities.
Notably, it will also allow job seekers to connect with recruiters directly via call or message, streamlining the hiring process, Jankiraman said.
Currently free for job seekers, Manyjobs aims to onboard one million users and post 100,000 job opportunities within its first six months.
Airtel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, L&T Finance, Zudio, Jio, Axis Bank, Kauvery Hospital, Royal Enfield, Asian Paints, Reliance Retail, Croma and Apollo Pharmacy are some of the notable recruiters.
"ManyJobs has partnered with multiple companies to provide frontline and entry-level jobs across retail, sales, customer support, manufacturing, hospitality, etc. This platform will bridge the gap between job seekers and frontline and entry-level recruiters. ManyJobs aims to help 1 million job seekers within six months of its launch," Janakiraman said.
