Bengaluru-based ecommerce unicorn Meesho is rolling out what it describes as one of India’s largest creator marketplaces, seeking to reshape how influencers interact with e-commerce.
According to the company, the platform’s new “Content Commerce” initiative rests on three core features—Meesho Creator Club, Video Finds, and Live Shop—that aim to make online shopping more immersive and personal for its roughly 187 million annual transacting users.
What is the Meesho Creator Club?
Meesho Creator Club is the in-house affiliate program designed to help influencers of all types, including smaller creators from Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities, earn money through product promotions. Features such as real-time performance analytics, quick payouts, and direct ties to Meesho’s seller network remove traditional entry barriers for creators.
“India’s creator economy is evolving rapidly, and we are excited to be at the forefront of unlocking economic opportunities for influencers,” said Prasanna Arunachalam, general manager of Monetization and Content Commerce at Meesho.
“With the launch of Meesho Creator Club, we are doubling down on our mission to democratize internet commerce, empowering creators with the right tools and resources they need to thrive.”
Video Finds and Live Shop
The marketplace goes beyond typical static listings. Its Video Finds feature highlights short, clickable product videos that users can shop without leaving the content, while Live Shop sessions let sellers and influencers demonstrate items in real time, answer questions, and complete transactions on the spot.
Meesho says this system fosters more trust and user engagement, particularly among emerging digital consumers in smaller cities.
In its first year alone, the initiative has reached more than 14.5 million users, delivering what the company calls a “personalized experience designed for the Indian market.”
Partnership with creators
Meesho credits this content-focused approach with a 3X spike in order volume between January and December 2024. The platform has partnered with more than 21,000 creators, drawing attention in cities like Delhi and Mumbai while also reaching places such as Bazpur in Uttarakhand, Kotputli in Rajasthan, and Pakyong in Sikkim.
“Our ongoing efforts have transformed Meesho’s content commerce into a dynamic three-way marketplace, seamlessly connecting creators, sellers, and consumers,” Arunachalam said.
The company plans to expand the Creator Club further by inviting nano- and micro-influencers, as well as larger established personalities, to boost content variety and audience reach.
