Morgan Stanley inaugurates state-of-the-art office in Mumbai, to accommodate over 8,500 employees

US-based financial services company Morgan Stanley has inaugurated its new state-of-the-art office in Mumbai, located at Commerz III, International Business Park, within Oberoi Garden City in Goregaon.

The facility will house over 8,500 employees in a consolidated, high-tech campus designed to foster productivity and sustainable practices.

Mandell Crawley, the Firm’s New York-based Chief Human Resources Officer, and Anahita Tiwari, Head of India Global Centers, Morgan Stanley, were also present at the inauguration.

The new campus spans one million square feet, offering an environment equipped with cutting-edge technology and sustainable solutions aimed at optimizing work processes.

The layout promotes flexible working styles, with diverse work settings intended to enhance collaboration and efficiency.

Anahita Tiwari, Head of India Global Centers for Morgan Stanley, described the facility as a “curated and seamless experience” for employees, fostering a sense of belonging through varied and modernized workspaces.

The office features a dedicated lobby, adaptable working areas, and a variety of amenities designed to support staff around the clock.

“Employees will enjoy access to a range of food options in the food halls, a full-service gym and fitness center, and an onsite health facility that provides comprehensive care, including pharmacy services and specialty medical care,” Tiwari noted.

Prioritizing inclusivity and well-being

According to the company's statement, the campus is designed to accommodate various needs, providing accessibility features, mother’s rooms, multifaith spaces, and outdoor terraces.

Notably, the office includes a full-service childcare centre for over 100 children, catering to families with children aged six months to six years. 

The office decor, including artwork that reflects India’s cultural heritage, adds to a welcoming atmosphere aimed at reinforcing community and belonging.

Focused on sustainability

In line with Morgan Stanley’s broader sustainability aims, the new campus has been designed and constructed to achieve the LEED Gold rating and the FITWEL certification.

The company has also taken sustainability measures, including energy efficient lighting, reduced water consumption, a ban on single-use plastic, and waste minimization.

Leadership comments

Gokul Laroia, CEO for Asia and Co-Head of Global Equities at Morgan Stanley, highlighted India's vital role in the firm’s growth plan, saying, “India’s economic growth, technological innovation, and demographic advantage make it an integral part of the Firm’s regional and global strategy. Our real estate investment, coupled with best-in-class infrastructure and resources for our Mumbai staff, reflects Morgan Stanley’s continued commitment to India.”

Arun Kohli, Morgan Stanley’s Country Head for India, echoed Laroia's sentiments, adding that the company's Indian operations, which began over two decades ago, have been instrumental in driving innovation and competitiveness for the firm. Kohli stated that the new office will further enhance operational efficiencies and support the firm’s transformation initiatives.
