Motion Graphics Platform LottieFiles Acquires Iconscout To Empower Designers

• Post-acquisition, Iconscout will continue to operate as a separate platform.
• Last month, LottieFiles had raised $9 million in funding from 500 Startups, M12, and Adobe Fund for Design.
• Iconscout provides ready-to-use design assets, 3d illustrations, and stock photos.

San Fransico-based motion graphics platform LottieFiles has acquired Surat-based design asset marketplace Iconscout for an undisclosed amount. Post-acquisition, Iconscout will continue to operate as a separate platform.

The announcement comes almost two weeks after when it raised $9 million (Rs 65 crore) in a Series A funding round co-led by existing investor 500 Startups, Microsoft-led M12, and Adobe-led Adobe Design Fund. Before series A funding, LottieFiles had raised an undisclosed amount in Seed funding from 500 Startups and Adobe Design Fund.

Founded in 2017 by Kshitij Minglani, Nattu Adnan, and Shafiu Hussain, LottieFiles ( Design Barn Inc.) enables designers and developers to access its tools to share, test, and iterate micro animations. It is one of the most active communities of Motion Designers, Animators, and Developers around Lottie Animations.

The company claims to have 65,000+ customers including global companies including Google, TikTok, Disney, Uber, Airbnb, Netflix, among others.

"The company aims to streamline the animation workflow and create a new realm of possibilities with Interactive Design across industries such as media, marketing, platforms, gaming, etc," it said.

Iconscout was founded in 2016 by Tarun Mangukiya, Varun Trivedi, Jemis, and Dalpat Prajapati. Iconscout is an online design resources marketplace that offers ready-to-use design assets such as illustrations, icons, 3D assets, Animations, and more. The platform has more than 2.5 million design resources and has an integration of tools like Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, Microsoft Office, etc.

The startup counts global companies Amazon, CISCO, Disney, Sony, Netflix, Unilever, and Spotify as customers.
