The payment is to be made over one or more tranches and is expected to be completed within the next 45 days.

The transaction will be funded through Absolute Sports' cash reserves. DeltiasGaming.com reported revenues of $575,000 (around Rs 4.8 crore) for the twelve months ending June 2024.

Deepening presence in the US

By acquiring DeltiasGaming, Absolute Sports aims to deepen its presence in the US gaming and esports media publishing sector.

DeltiasGaming’s loyal user base of nearly 1.5 million monthly readers and its established brand equity will be pivotal in enhancing Absolute Sports' position as an authoritative voice in gaming media.

Ajay Pratap Singh, CEO of Absolute Sports, said, "With this acquisition, Absolute Sports will now serve upwards of 5 million US gaming enthusiasts with high-quality gaming and esports-related news and analysis content on our various properties."

What does DeltiasGaming do?

Founded by Jacob A. Hausman, DeltiasGaming began as a YouTube channel in 2014, focusing on gaming content. It later expanded to include a Twitch streaming channel and a standalone website launched in 2021.

The platform is renowned for its expertly crafted gaming guides and tutorials, particularly for massively multiplayer online games. The website gets over 1.5 million unique users monthly.

The acquisition of DeltiasGaming marks Absolute Sports' third significant purchase in the US market. Earlier, the company acquired Pro Football Network in March 2023 for $1.82 million (Rs 16 crore) and SoapCentral in June 2024 for $1.4 million (Rs 11.6 crore).

Absolute Sports' parent company, Nazara Technologies, has been actively expanding its portfolio. Last month, Nazara’s mobile gaming arm, Next Wave Multimedia, acquired the intellectual property rights of Ultimate Teen Patti from Games24X7 for Rs 10 crore.

Additionally, Nazara acquired an additional 48.42% stake in Paper Boat Apps for Rs 300 crore, securing a 100% stake in the company.
