Adar Poonawalla and Natasha Poonawalla
Reacting to L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan's 90-hour workweek remark, Vaccine maker Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla said his wife (Natasha Poonawalla) thinks he is wonderful and loves staring at him.
Billionaire Poonawalla was responding to Anand Mahindra, who earlier said his wife Anuradha is wonderful and he loves staring at her.
"Yes anandmahindra , even my wife NPoonawalla thinks i am wonderful, she loves staring at me on Sundays. Quality of work over quantity always. #worklifebalance," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The controversy stems from a video circulating on Reddit, in which Subrahmanyan expressed regret about not being able to mandate Sunday work.
“I regret I am not able to make you work on Sundays. If I can make you work on Sundays, I will be more happy because I work on Sundays,” he said.
The chairman's remarks became even more contentious when he questioned employees' downtime at home. “What do you do sitting at home? How long can you look at your wife? Come on, get to the office and start working,” he stated.
Even L&T supported Chairman SN Subrahmanyan's remarks advocating 90-hour workweeks and working Sundays for employees.
"Extraordinary outcomes require extraordinary effort. We remain committed to fostering a culture where passion, purpose, and performance drive us forward," an L&T spokesperson said.
