Navi Group has named two longtime team members to lead its key businesses, announcing that founder Sachin Bansal will step down as chief executive officer while remaining executive chairman.

The move places Rajiv Naresh at the helm of Navi Technologies Ltd. and Abhishek Dwivedi in charge of Navi Finserv Ltd.

New leadership at Navi

Both Naresh and Dwivedi have been part of Navi’s founding team for six years, holding various senior roles that shaped the company’s growth.

Their appointments follow the Reserve Bank of India’s recent decision to lift a temporary restriction on Navi Finserv’s lending, which paused loan approvals for about 40 days due to regulatory concerns.

Bansal’s new role

Bansal, who served as CEO of both Navi Technologies and Navi Finserv, will now focus on guiding the group’s overall direction and strategy.

As executive chairman, he will lead major initiatives in areas such as fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance. He said the leadership change is a “strategic milestone” that will help Navi strengthen its focus on long-term growth.

Focus on growth and vision

The appointment of Naresh and Dwivedi is part of a broader plan to position Navi as a major financial services player. While Naresh will handle the company’s non-lending businesses, Dwivedi will oversee lending operations.

Bansal emphasized that the shift in leadership is meant to enhance the company’s performance rather than respond to recent challenges.

“Both Rajiv and Abhishek have played key roles in our growth and I am confident that we will continue on this upward trajectory as they assume their new roles,” Bansal said in a statement.
