Nazara-owned NODWIN invests €8 million in Berlin-based Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH

NODWIN Gaming International Pte. Ltd, a subsidiary of the Indian esports company NODWIN Gaming, has invested €8 million (approximately Rs 72 crore) in Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH. 

Conversion of Equity

Nodwin said the investment process involved converting a previous loan agreement into equity. Initially, The homegrown company had a convertible loan agreement worth €3.6 million with Freaks 4U Gaming, dated December 27, 2023.

This has now been converted into equity, alongside an additional investment of €4.4 million. Consequently, NODWIN's total investment in Freaks 4U Gaming amounts to €8 million, securing a 13.51% stake in the company.

Utilizing resources 

NODWIN said it also has the option to acquire majority control in the future by swapping equity of Freaks 4U Gaming investors and founders with NODWIN shares

As part of this agreement, NODWIN and Freaks 4U Gaming will exclusively start utilizing resources in each other’s key territories, such as personnel, equipment and facilities.

Strategic alliance

NODWIN gains access to developed markets, the PC ecosystem, and the full-service capabilities of Freaks 4U Gaming. Conversely, Freaks 4U Gaming will tap into NODWIN’s network in emerging markets and mobile esports.

Niels Wolter will be appointed to the Freaks 4U Gaming advisory board to oversee strategy and integration, as per the company's statement.
