NetApp India appoints Vasanthi Ramesh

NetApp, the U.S.-based data management and storage solutions company, announced the promotion of Vasanthi Ramesh to Managing Director of its India operations.

In this expanded role, Ramesh will oversee strategic initiatives to drive innovation and growth in the region. She will maintain her current position as Vice President of Engineering, Unified Manageability Framework.

Vasanthi's extensive experience

Ramesh has close to three decades of experience in enterprise software and consumer technology. Her career has included significant contributions to NetApp’s manageability and data protection portfolio.

She has focused on developing solutions that cater to both traditional data centers and public cloud environments, demonstrating expertise in data management and infrastructure.

Focus on strategic initiatives and partnerships  

In her role as Managing Director, Ramesh will lead the India site operations with an emphasis on initiatives such as the NetApp Excellerator program and Academia Connect.

These efforts are designed to foster technological growth and partnerships in the region.

Additionally, she will strengthen NetApp’s collaboration with GCC platforms and industry organizations like NASSCOM, enhancing the company’s visibility and leadership within India's tech ecosystem.

Driving innovation amidst a growing tech landscape  

Ramesh’s appointment comes during a period of rapid growth in India’s technology sector, where AI and intelligent data infrastructure are playing crucial roles.

NetApp noted that under her leadership, the company aims to continue expanding its local presence and providing advanced cloud and data solutions to its clients.

The company remains confident in its strategic direction as it leverages India’s dynamic market for technological innovation and development.

Educational background

Ramesh holds dual master’s degrees—one in Statistics from the University of Hyderabad and another in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
