Nokia opens 6G Lab in India to accelerate 6G development in India

Finland-based telecommunication and technology company Nokia has established a 6G Lab at its Global R&D; centre in Bengaluru, India.

The lab is aimed at developing essential technologies and innovative applications that will meet the future requirements of both industry and society.

The lab will also be a platform for collaboration between industry stakeholders and facilitate the testing of innovative solutions.

The lab will research 'Network as a Sensor' technology, which will enable the network to sense objects, people and movements without the need for onboard sensors.

The technology has the potential to enable people to 'see around corners', gather information about their surroundings, and even interact with objects at a distance.

Nokia is also involved in several global and regional initiatives, such as the Next G Alliance, to help drive the 6G ecosystem
