OnePlay onboards NODWIN Gaming co-founder Akshat Rathee as investor and advisor

Cloud gaming platform OnePlay has announced Akshat Rathee, a prominent figure in gaming and esports, has joined as a strategic investor and advisory board member.

Rathee, known for co-founding NODWIN Gaming and expanding the esports ecosystem across Asia, will bring his experience to OnePlay as it aims to revolutionize cloud gaming.

Rathee has been instrumental in advancing esports, founding over 20 companies in sectors including sports tech and clean energy.

Under his leadership, NODWIN Gaming has become Asia’s top esports company with operations in the Middle East and Europe. Now, OnePlay seeks to leverage his expertise to expand its footprint in India and beyond.

Strategic impact and new infrastructure

Beyond esports, Rathee has also invested in startups and emerging tech firms through Good Game Investments, a venture that aligns with OnePlay’s growth-oriented goals. His background in startup mentorship is expected to help drive OnePlay’s innovation in cloud gaming, positioning it to capture more of India’s rapidly growing gaming market.

The company is also advancing its technology partnerships. Through a recent agreement with Velosting, an Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider, OnePlay is strengthening its data center infrastructure across India and the Asia-Pacific region.

The expansion aims to enhance game performance for users by reducing lag times and improving overall response.

CEO highlights Rathee’s role

Harshit Jain, OnePlay’s co-founder and CEO, welcomed Rathee’s addition, calling his experience invaluable. “Akshat Rathee’s extensive background with NODWIN Gaming will be instrumental as we establish ourselves in the cloud gaming market,” Jain said.

OnePlay’s expanding partnerships and game library

As part of its growth, OnePlay has partnered with various telco and technology companies like Batelco, Orange Jordan, and CTM Macau.

The platform's partnerships with Yotta for data center support, Radian Arc for GPU resources, and Shaks for gaming controllers illustrate OnePlay’s comprehensive approach to creating an expansive gaming environment. 

Recently, the company also collaborated with Samsung to provide direct access to cloud gaming on Samsung Smart TVs in India, eliminating the need for additional gaming consoles or PCs.

Funding to drive future growth

OnePlay has received $1.8 million in seed funding from Baring Capital, Inflection Point Ventures, and other angel investors, enabling it to further develop its gaming platform.
