Apple Inc. is set to deepen its presence in India with fresh investments across retail and corporate operations.
The Cupertino-based technology giant plans to open a second retail store in Mumbai in the coming months, while also moving to establish its first dedicated corporate office in Chennai.
Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed plans for another Mumbai store during the company’s fiscal first quarter 2026 earnings call, citing strong retail performance and robust revenue growth in India.
Cook said the new outlet would follow the opening of Apple’s fifth retail store in the country during the December quarter, as the company continues to expand its brick-and-mortar footprint.
According to the reports, the upcoming Mumbai store will be located at the Oberoi Sky City Mall in Borivali (East). Apple has reportedly leased around 12,616 square feet of space on the ground floor of the newly developed mall.
While Apple has not officially confirmed the location or launch timeline, the store is expected to begin operations in the coming months.
Once operational, the Borivali outlet will become Apple’s sixth retail store in India, joining existing locations in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune and Noida. The Noida store, opened during the December quarter, is Apple’s second outlet in the Delhi-NCR region and offers product sales, personalised assistance from specialists, Today at Apple sessions, and device support and repair services.
Apple BKC, the company’s first official retail store in India, was opened in August 2023 at Jio World Drive in Bandra Kurla Complex. The addition of a second store in Mumbai aligns with Apple’s strategy to improve customer access to its products and services through direct retail, while strengthening brand visibility in key urban markets.
Alongside retail expansion, Apple is also looking to scale up its corporate presence in India. According to a media reports, the company has signed a lease for around 20,000 square feet of office space at DLF CyberCity IT Park in Porur, Chennai, to set up its first dedicated corporate office in the country. The facility is expected to function as a Global Capability Centre and manage key global operations.
