OYO raising strategic investment from Microsoft at $9B valuation, says report

After raising $660 million TLB funding, OYO is reportedly raising a strategic investment from US-based technology giant Microsoft at a valuation of $9 billion, according to ET report.

According to the reports, OYO could announce the development in the upcoming few weeks. Earlier this month, OYO had raised $660 million in TLB funding (Term Loan B) from global institutional investors. The company had reported that the round was oversubscribed by 1.7 times and had received commitments of close to $1 billion from leading institutional investors.

Meanwhile, The hospitality firm is also gearing up to launch its initial public offering (IPO) in the upcoming months.

Currently, The company is already having China-based Didi Chuxing, Ride-hailing firm Grab, and US-based hospitality firm Airbnb as strategic investors.

Varde Partners, Hindustan Media Ventures, Softbank Vision Fund, Fidelity Investment, Citadel, are among the investors in the startup. So far, it has raised over $4.1 billion in its funding rounds.
