Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led Paytm has introduced an innovative feature, UPI LITE Auto Top-up, designed to streamline everyday payments under Rs 500.
The feature caters to users looking for a fast, hassle-free solution for recurring transactions like transportation, food, and groceries.
Announced Monday, it supports seamless PIN-less payments and automatic balance refills when funds dip below a user-defined threshold.
Transforming daily payments
Paytm UPI LITE Auto Top-up is a game-changer for those managing frequent, small-value payments. Users can make PIN-free transactions up to Rs 500 each, with a daily cap of Rs 2,000. This eliminates delays often caused by manual authentication processes.
Additional benefits include a clutter-free bank statement, as small payments process through an on-device wallet rather than the main bank account. Users can also access detailed UPI transaction records, improving financial tracking and budgeting.
Key features and convenience
1. PIN-less payments: Quick payments for transactions under ₹500, including transport and beverages, no PIN required.
2. Automatic balance recharge: Users set a minimum balance, triggering automatic top-ups.
3. Enhanced financial clarity: Small transactions are isolated, keeping primary bank statements clear.
4. Comprehensive tracking: A downloadable UPI statement helps users monitor all transactions.
"With UPI LITE Auto Top-up, users can make their daily payments faster and more seamless. It allows small, recurring transactions without overwhelming main bank statements," a Paytm spokesperson said.
The feature currently works with Yes Bank and Axis Bank accounts but will soon expand to all users and partnered banks.
