Paytm Money, a wholly-owned subsidiary of One97 Communications, has appointed Narasinganallore Venkatesh Srinivasan as its non-executive independent director. 

Srinivasan, a seasoned professional in the finance industry, brings with him over four decades of experience, particularly in finance, risk management, capital markets, and banking strategy.

Srinivasan’s previous roles and experience

Srinivasan has held several key positions throughout his career, showcasing his vast expertise. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), where he played a significant role in shaping the mutual funds industry.

Prior to AMFI, Srinivasan served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director at Lakshmi Vilas Bank.

He also had an extensive tenure at IDBI Bank, where he held senior positions for nearly two decades, including the roles of CFO and Executive Director.

Contributions to the financial sector

In addition to his executive roles, Srinivasan has made notable contributions to various financial committees and advisory boards.

He chaired the Reserve Bank of India's Technical Advisory Committee for the Fixed Income, Money Markets, and Derivatives Association (FIMMDA) and was a management committee member of the Foreign Exchange Dealers' Association of India (FEDAI).

His expertise was also sought by SEBI’s Mutual Funds Advisory Committee and Corporate Bonds and Securitisation Advisory Committee. Furthermore, he has provided advice to the Maharashtra government on matters related to cash management and government borrowing.

Focusing on governance and compliance

Paytm Money’s appointment of Srinivasan aligns with the company's ongoing efforts to strengthen its governance and compliance standards.

The move follows a series of appointments of senior industry executives to the boards of Paytm Money and its parent company, One97 Communications.
