Peak XV Partners’ former chief marketing officer, Gayatri Yadav, has joined Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd. as group chief marketing officer and executive vice president for strategic initiatives in the Chairman’s Office.

The move brings to a close her tenure at the venture capital firm, formerly known as Sequoia India and Southeast Asia.

Last December, ISN first reported that Gayatri Yadav would be leaving the investment firm, which has backed notable startups such as Atlys, BharatPe, Blinkit, Byju's, and many others.

Yadav has been a marketing leader at companies such as Procter & Gamble and General Mills. Prior to Peak XV Partners, she was CMO at Sequoia Capital India & SEA, driving brand positioning and thought leadership for startups and investors in the region.

Yadav shared a LinkedIn and X post announcing her job change.

Throughout her career, Yadav has focused on building high-impact brands, first in consumer packaged goods and later in media, where she served as the marketing head at Star.

Working closely with the Ambani family

Yadav said these experiences, along with her venture capital stint, primed her for the new role at Reliance Industries, where she will closely work with Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani, and other members of the EC and the organisation to amplify brand impact, innovation and deepen consumer connections.

“It’s an incredible platform of unimaginable scale and potential,” Yadav said, describing the move to Reliance. “All the dots — consumer, brand and technology — converge here. I am honoured to be joining Reliance Industries Limited as Group CMO and EVP Strategic Initiatives Chairman’s Office."

"Reliance has a philosophy of “Growth is Life”, this is the core driver of all progress. Everything in life can be traced back to the impulse for growth - personal, spiritual, economic, societal and transcendental. I am humbled and excited by the opportunity to serve and drive growth and impact for our nation. What is good for India is good for Reliance. I look forward to working with all stakeholders, partners and the entire team in driving growth and impact at scale," she added.
