Peak XV Partners has announced the selection of 14 startups for its tenth cohort under the Surge program, a seed-stage accelerator designed to support early-stage startups.
These startups span diverse sectors, such as artificial intelligence (AI), developer tools, consumer products, financial technology, and healthcare.
The cohort represents startups from India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, China, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia. The program runs from October 2024 to February 2025.
Who are the selected startups?
The selected startups include Amaani, Ambak, Auquan, Brainfish, Clout Kitchen, Dezy, Dubbing AI, OrbitShift, Parseable, SalarySe, Tailcall, The Health Factory, Wobot, and a stealth-mode company in the healthcare sector.
A significant highlight is that Amaani is the first startup from the Middle East to join the Surge platform, marking an important milestone for the region.
These startups represent innovation across multiple sectors, particularly in AI, fintech, and consumer-facing brands. The addition of startups like Brainfish and Dubbing AI signals a continued focus on next-generation technologies within the program.
Program details and benefits
Each startup participating in Surge 10 will receive up to $3 million in seed funding, along with comprehensive support from the Surge investment and operating teams, including assistance in key areas such as hiring, product development, technology, and marketing.
Founders also gain access to a wide range of resources and tools valued at over $2 million, covering services like cloud storage, marketing tools, software, and more.
The program is designed to offer mentorship opportunities with global founders and experienced operators. These interactions help companies strengthen their foundational strategies while preparing to scale globally.
Additionally, the Surge 10 cohort will participate in both in-person and online sessions, covering topics like founder development, product refinement, go-to-market strategies, and brand building.
Focus on global growth and mentorship
One of the defining features of the Surge program is its emphasis on mentorship and networking. Participants in Surge 10 will have access to insights from experienced entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
In previous cohorts, notable speakers included Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath, Cred founder Kunal Shah, and Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal. These sessions provide essential guidance for startups aiming to make an impact in their home markets and beyond.
Additionally, the Surge 10 program will culminate in a U.S. immersion experience in February 2025, where founders will visit prominent companies like OpenAI and Notion in Silicon Valley. The exposure is expected to further expand their global outlook and provide insights into the cutting-edge innovations driving the tech industry.
Since its inception in 2019, Surge has supported over 150 startups across 17 sectors, with participants collectively raising more than $2 billion in follow-on funding.
“We’re privileged to have played a part in the company-building journeys of over 350 founders since the inception of Surge in 2019. Surge has played a key role in growing and nurturing India and Southeast Asia’s seed ecosystem and we’re now seeing incredible success from companies in the earlier cohorts that are on the path to building truly enduring companies.” said Rajan Anandan, Managing Director, Peak XV and Surge.
