It's worth noting that Liu visited India in July last year to attend the Semicon India conclave, where he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Liu was conferred with the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian award, on the eve of the 75th Republic Day this year.
Foxconn assembles a significant portion of Apple’s products, most the iPhone series. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to create a joint venture (JV) for a semiconductor outsourced assembly and testing (OSAT) unit in India.
